The Capsa House

Casa Capsa (The Capsa House) was the meeting place of many Romanian intellectuals of the nineteenth century: Mihai Eminescu, Ion Barbu, Ion Slavici and others.  Over time, Capsa has become a renowned place of debate and the quatrain of Nicolae Crevedia, the father Eugen Barbu is enlightening in this respect: " Capsa, where all seniors attend, is the place split in two partitions: in one you eat cake, while in the other you chew out writers.”
