Garana music festival of avant-garde, Nordic, American, Oriental, Western, Romanian jazz was born in 1997 and developed from two days of festival to 5 days in 2017. Garana, a small village in Semenic, became a realm where the most important open air jazz festival in Central and Eastern Europe takes place. Over time, there were over 50,000 participants, and the stage hosted famous artists, among which Mike Stern, Avishay Cohen, Zakir Hussain, Jan Garbarek, Charles Lloyd, Jean-Luc Ponty, Bugge Wesseltoft, Lars Danielsson John Abercronbie, Eberhard Weber, Miroslav Vitous, Stanley Jordan, Magnus Ostrom, Nils Petter Molvaer.
